MultiStory

It wasn’t shyness that killed the cat

You know that

Now it’s killing me

Spiders didn’t frighten me away

But I run

Terrified of you

Emperors don’t feel nakedness

But I do

Feel so vulnerable

So small, free-falling into you

Jack and Jill

Tumbling after

Stories oh I’ve heard them

Though they never quite prepared me

For the whack of emotions I was going to feel

Pages unbinding,

Scattered sheets and words unravelling

Writing my own tales taking one page at a time.

Sitting on the fence made humpty fall

Dive head first

Back together again

A sleeping princess awakened

By your touch

Your kisses electric

Afraid I’ll find a wolf in my bed

Must let go

Or blow my own house in

More afraid of finding price charming

At the top

Of a tall tower block

Stories, oh I love them,

Though they never quite prepared me

For writing a tale or living a story

Pages being bound,

Gathered sheets and words reforming

Re-writing Aesop’s fables one lesson at a time.
